The Motive

The idea behind Glory Cloud portrays the story of the children of Israel on their journey from Egypt to the Promised land when the presence of God was with them as a cloud by day, and a pillar of fire by night.

Glory Cloud reminds us that the presence of God is needed to abide with us in course of our earthly journey, bringing to pass the fulfillment of His promises in our lives through His manifest glory – just like he did with the children of Israel in the wilderness.

The Inception

When Pastor George Akhigbe was called to pastor in July 2002, and the parish was named House of Glory, the spirit of the Lord brought to his remembrance the glory cloud experience of the Israelites, and began to speak explicitly concerning an annual outreach event that would go by that name.
The logistics for Glory Cloud was eventually put together, and the first Glory Cloud was held in 2004.
