The Land

The vision for Project Haggai began to take shape on May 3, 2003, with a fundraising dinner at which more than $50,000 was pledged toward the building project. Since then, members and friends of House of Glory have continued to give faithfully, and contributions have far exceeded the original pledges.

In June 2003, House of Glory identified a 4.5-acre property in the Halethorpe/Arbutus area of Baltimore County. Negotiations with the landowners began immediately, with the goal of acquiring the property and securing financing for the project. A contract was subsequently signed by the Pastor on behalf of House of Glory.

The landowners gave final approval to the contract proposal at the end of July 2003, beginning a 60-day feasibility period during which environmental contaminants and other potential hazards were evaluated, followed by a period of discussions with financial institutions.

On November 6, 2003, House of Glory officially closed on the property.

The 4.5-acre site is strategically located at the intersection of Benson Avenue and Sulphur Spring Road and is bounded on its third side by Old Sulphur Spring Road. The property has access to public water and sewer services and is conveniently accessible from the surrounding roads.

The site is surrounded by established community institutions and residential neighborhoods, including the County Library and U.S. Postal Service facilities, making it a valuable location for the future home of House of Glory.

What began with a vision, prayer, and the generosity of God’s people has become a tangible foundation for the future sanctuary of House of Glory.
